She’s gettin’ a tattoo, She’s gettin’ ink done, She asked for a 13 but they drew a 31…

Well, I’ve been threatening to get a Dory tattoo for several months now, and today I put my needle where my mouth is.

When I went in today, I was just going to have him draw it out and decide where I wanted it. I was really torn; did I want it on my chest where it would still be covered when I wore a sleeveless dress or my outside calf or my arm?

I told Dennis that I wanted to think about it more and that I didn’t have time to get it anyway. I needed to get my nap in or I’d never make it through my 8pm-8am shift.

But then I got home and I was so restless I couldn’t sleep. Then I got a hold of Kizz and asked her if she’d go with me when I got it done. She was like, “Yeah, I’ll be there in 20 minutes.”

Aw, crap. No time like the present, right?!

We went into the tattoo studio and at the last frickin’ second, I decided it was going on my arm.

I climbed into the chair and tried not to completely lose my shit.

Most of the time, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. But when he did the outlining, sweet MERCY help me! He just about had to peel me off the ceiling!

Halfway through:
my dory tattoo in progress

All done:
my dory tattoo finished

It’s kind of all yucky there, I’m keeping Aquaphor on it. I’ll take another picture in a week or so when it’s healed.

I think it’s pretty funny the way Dory’s eyes look a little bloodshot. Apparently Dory hit some doobie.

Update: I cleaned it and put on a fresh coat of Aquaphor. That looks a little better.

  2. Sweet tatt! I love it! When my daughter turns 18 in October we are both going in for tatts. It will be her first and my third (my first two are pretty small). I can’t wait!!! To me, there’s something addicting about getting tattoos!
